About This Tool
Check known FDSN web services. This uses the FDSN Registry, so only services registered there will be tested. The previous version that used a manually maintained list is available at the old service check page.
This runs tests against FDSN web services from within the browser using JavaScript fetch requests. If the server is not configured to allow queries from pages loaded from other sites (CORS), the request will fail even if the URL works when entered directly in the browser. See the Wikipedia article, Mozilla documentation, and W3C specification for more information.
Note: If this page is loaded via HTTPS, all requests to FDSN web services will also use HTTPS. Services that only support HTTP will fail after a timeout. We encourage all services to support both HTTP and HTTPS.
Check the browser's JavaScript console for additional debugging information, especially for CORS errors. Tests stop on the first failure within each type.
Disclaimer: Results may include false positives/negatives as test data is not guaranteed to exist on all services. Different browsers may produce different results. These tests represent my reading of the FDSN Web Service Specification and may contain bugs.
